I hope it’s chunky beer.

Now that’s just mean. And disgusting.

Double IPAs

They can’t all be delicious.

you should just drink the good ones and not the sea of lame ones

I have had some of the best. I have also had some of the worst. Terrapin Hopzilla I would have to say isn’t bad and I wouldn’t call it lame. It is what it is. A double IPA. But for some reason while taking in this beer I came to the conclusion that I really just don’t care for doubles like I did a few years ago. It actually isn’t that big of a surprise to me considering I use to be big into barleywines and now I don’t even want to think about drinking one. I guess I am just burnt out on beers that I would consider overly syrupy, sweet, or just plain malty. I need something extra. Some further sustenance. Be it roastyness, hoppyness, or woodyness. I don’t car too much for alcohol bombs. I would much rather have something bursting with flavor and originality.

For everyone wondering: everything is fine. I came home from work to find water backed up to my back door, a river running past my side door, and a dripping crack in my bedroom ceiling. I got someone to patch my roof, which has stopped the dripping and hopefully any further damage. And miraculously the water in my backyard has receded into the ground(thank you drought).

Using Your Mind You Can Accomplish Anything

womaninterrupted replied to your photo: I managed to procure a couple of Stone Ruination…

No weeknight drinks? If you make it out alive let me know how you did it. ;-P

Well I managed to make it through the week without any alcohol. I haven’t had a drink since Saturday night despite having a fridge stocked full of tasty craft beer(non of which are Heady-Topper btw). I will be imbibing one or two tonight after I work out. I managed to accomplish this the same exact way I stopped smoking last year, and the same way I beat my oxycontin addiction 11 years ago. I have amazing will power and when I make the decision to do something and I put my mind to it, I get it done. Unfortunately, this is something I was born with that most people don’t have. If I could teach it to people I would gladly work at a rehab center or something like that, but it is frustrating enough trying to help close personal friends and instead of listening they continue to waste their lives away and basically kill themselves.

Brandy Snifter to the rescue

womaninterrupted replied to your photo: The Holy Grail has arrived!

I hope you have correct brewery-issued glass to drink that with. ;)

I might not know much but I damn sure know (and own) the proper glassware when it comes to drinking beer.

I think you need help. I’m getting in my car now.

I’m gonna need you to step on it. (no pun intended)

It is my favorite T-Heads album for sure. That and True Stories.

"$1,000 booze stipend"!?!

womaninterrupted replied to your post: Somebody beer me!

My friend works for company that sells or markets liquor I can’t remember. They have a weekly in office happy hour and get a one grand booze stipend each year.

Are they hiring?

womaninterrupted replied to your photo: Full Sail - Top Sail Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial…

Is this a mail order beer? I remember when you got a shipment. Just curious where you ordered it from. Do you mind divulging your secrets?

Yes, this bottle came from California. I don’t have a problem with mentioning some of the places I order from, but I am very hesitant to reveal my California connection. The reason for that is because the majority of the beer I order from there sells out so fast that it is never even listed on their website, and the fewer people that are on the email list the better chances I have of getting the really hard to get stuff like this one.

Did you take this? Wow.
I did not, but I was standing directly to the right of the person that did.

womaninterrupted replied to your photo: BrewDog - Tokyo* This fucking thing is not…

Oh my. Where did you get that? Isn’t that contraband?

It’s a Scottish beer I ordered from a place in California. this brewery is known for their high alcohol content. They even hold the current record with a beer that is 28%ABV. In Mississippi all beer over 6.2% is considered contraband, which is why I order most of the beer I drink or brew it myself.
